CPU Shack News
New Website Coming Soon: Yes thats right, we will be completely redesigning, and rebuilding the CPU Shack Museum site. look for it in the coming months.
Added Intel Celeron-M ES and NEC upd78C14G to the store and now Pentium-M Dothan ES
IC Storage Tubes have also been added for the low price of $1 each
I am working on making all the old (1994-2000) press releases that we have into readable HTML
1994 Press Releases is the first year I have fixed 1995-1997 Press Releases are now up and viewable.
Over 140 CPU Press releases are now in full HTML format. Several hundred to follow.
I am researching a lot on EPROM's so if you happen to have any old Intel OEM price guides, or any older Memory components databooks (Intel or others are good) please let me know.
The CPU Shack has now begun collecting UV-EPROMs (the windowed ones) if you have some to donate, please let me know. We now have OVER 500 EPROMs
New Article has been posted from guest author Jan Waclawek, The History of the MCS-51 (Since Intel is now dicontinuing it)
This site is rather costly to maintain, as is preserving the Museum. If you wish you can make a donation with Paypal.

Popular Microprocessor Articles:

The Microprocessor Museum is dedicated to preserving the history of microprocessors and computing in an on-line museum. The CPU Shack is made possible through generous donations of processors by people around the world. The CPU Shack is one of the largest CPU collections in the world.

Check out the Reference Section for many articles about different CPU types and CPU manufactures including electronic manufacturers logos, mergers, aquisitions and spinoffs, and tons more of fascinating CPU material.

While most things in life stick around for many years before being out of date and 'collectible' CPUs take only a few years to become 'historic.' The first CPU was made just 34 years ago, where as the first car was made over 100 years ago. CPUs are also rapidly disappearing due to their gold content. The CPU Shack helps to preserve the history of the computer revolution and preserve these miraculous devices from the smelter.
